Memorial Hall contains thousands of Civil War artifacts on site. As many as one thousand of these items are on display at any one time. Among the many items contained in the Memorial Hall collection are:

  • More than 125 original battle flags of the South and the State of Louisiana, including:
  • The flag of Dreux's Battalion, commanded by Colonel Charles Dreux, the first Louisianian killed in the war
  • Flag of the Bienville Rifles, Company B, 8th Louisiana Infantry.
  • The flag of Wheat's Battalion, stained with the blood of its commander, Roberdeau Wheat
     
  • Uniforms of famous Confederate officers and of the common soldier, including:
  • The frock coats of Generals P.G.T. Beauregard, Braxton Bragg, Franklin Gardner, Daniel Adams, Joseph Davis and Albert Blanchard

  • Rare Confederate guns, including those made by LeMat, Cook & Brother and Tarpley
  • Confederate swords made by Louisiana manufacturers Dufilho, Thomas, Griswold; Praedel as well as numerous presentation swords. Owners of these swords include:
  • P.G.T. Beauregard and Braxton Bragg

More than 500 rare photographs of various forms: tintypes, ambrotypes, daguerreotypes, cartes de visites, and albumens
