craneMemorial Hall is currently closed to the public due to construction associated with the expansion of the surrounding Ogden Museum of Southern Art.

Air conditionerA tunnel, being built through the rear of the Memorial Hall museum just beneath the Jefferson Davis stage, will connect the current Ogden Museum on the right of Memorial Hall with the Patrick F. Taylor Library on its left.

While this construction is underway, Memorial Hall is taking the opportunity to perform some much-needed repairs to its own facility. A new slate roof has been installed as well as waterproofing its exterior walls.

main hallA new updated environmental system is being relocated and installed. The old gift shop was demolished and will be moved to the end of the sandingJefferson Davis annex, locating it at the end of a future new display in that hall called Louisiana in the Civil War.

The location of the old gift shop will now be a new reception area which will greet the visitor with a hand-made cypress counter.

Antique book cases will supply storage area behind the counter and in front of refurbished cypress walls in that area.

workers A re-opening date for the museum has not yet been set, but please check this web site later for updates. Of course, a party will coincide with the grand re-opening.

 None of this museum work could be tunnelpossible without donations from Foundation members. All improvements to Memorial Hall so far have been funded by the Foundation.
